This season will probably be remembered for being a season of two halves (and not just the two halves that the Soccer Centre cut the season into). We started off the summer season in mid-February flying and were top of the table for a few weeks, then we gradually slipped, and then slipped a bit more though we tried to get back amongst the pace-setters we never quite did it. Our early season form proves that the team can compete with the very best but in the end inconsistency cost us dearly and lack of bite in front of goal. So finishing in mid-table wasn’t really where we wanted to be but the unbeaten run was a big highlight and Ally being named as Division Two’s player of the season was another achievement. Let’s hope the boys can easily make the transition from astroturf to grass next season as we start to compete at a more serious level.
