This turned out to be an all-conquering record-breaking season for our U16’s team who ended the season as undefeated champions of the Potteries Junior Youth League, Division 3. This was our first season in the Potteries League so it proved to be a great decision to move, the boys relished the chance to play against new teams in a much improved League set-up than we’d been used to. There were some thrilling matches against some strong opposition and the boys showed their strength and belief in their own abilities pulling off some outstanding results including scoring 9, 10, 11 (twice) and even 12 goals in a match. They were deserved champions and will face a tough test in the new season after being promoted to the First Division. The boys again enjoyed an overseas tour, this time to Spain, the team spirit this fostered was again evident when they came home and we hope to arrange another tour next season.

The U13’s faired well in a strong division. Unfortunately the League’s poor organisation and the bad winter weather led to many weeks without a game during some parts of the season which meant it was hard to get momentum going but the team still managed a very creditable mid-table position with Levi again scoring over half the side’s goals. The team also got to the final of the Wilf Saunders Cup losing a very close game 3-2 to Alsager and also reached the final of the very tough Market Drayton Tournament. The team will be moving to the Potteries Junior Youth League for the new season which will hopefully prove to be a much better set-up for them.
