Sunday 17th November v Foley FC (away) at Foley FC, Meir, PJYL Div 2

A game we should have won convincingly
Kick off 10.30, Foley were not having a good run being lower in the league than us. We kicked off and for the first 20 mins we were pretty much in control, passing the ball well and controlling the game. Defence today was very good and the midfield were playing well, getting the ball up front. Levi had a few good chances but couldn't convert today then Cody put a very good corner ball in to the box which Macca B headed in at 10.37. We had numerous chances after that to convert, but didn't, then it was half time. Second half we seemed to back off and not play our usual game which left Foley to build some confidence up and they seemed to start playing better football. Second half was end to end but each team were failing to convert chances. Then we let Foley convert too easily towards the end of the game. 1-1 was the end result but I felt we should have won if we'd converted more in the first half and I think we took our foot off the pedal too early.

Sunday 10th November v Cheadle Town (home) at Sir William Stanier, PJYL Div 2

We started off this week very slowly I thought, the lads were struggling to play as a team. Today for the first 25 mins both teams had equal possession, although we did have our chances but failed to convert them. Into half time at 0-0 with our defensive line up being very strong.
Second half starts and we seem to be at a better level, 4 mins in and we create a great cross over for Levi to score a goal and finally get the game alive and get our boys playing their usual game. Then we make a mistake 2 mins later and are punished by Cheadle to level 1-1, 6 mins in.
We seemed to be struggling today to get our passing game going although we were fighting hard, then Cheadle scored their second goal to go in front.
This was a very hard physical game and the lads stood their ground well, then Adam had a fantastic shot to put us back on level terms again only for Cheadle to get the winner just before the last minute of the game. All in all a very strong performance from the boys with a good strong performance from our defence against a strong physical team.
