Many thanks to Anna for volunteering to write match reports this season.

Sunday 29th January v Cheshire Blades Tigers at King George Playing Field

Cold frosty start today, thought we started off slow taking our time to settle in the game. Evenly matched the first 20 minutes. I think we created more chances going into the first half level 0-0. Good team talk at half time and we came out a much better team with more attitude and commitment some good passing and ball control which lead to Bradley scoring our first goal. Then we seemed to settle in and played better football. Taking control of the game. Well done Bradley hope there’s plenty more to come. Then a few minutes later Levi puts away a good goal to take us to 2-0 up. Now Cheshire Blades Tigers created a few good chances and earned thermselves a penalty from which our stand in goal keeper Jack saved and once again another top performance from him, also our defence was second to none today a fine performance from them all. So to sum up another good all round team effort well done boys and well done to our coaches Gary and Lee.

Sunday 22nd January v Alsager Town at Mirrion Street

It was a nice cool windy morning. We started off well, plenty of passing and everyone pushed forward with Alsager looking up for a good game. We scored our first goal with good ball skills through for Levi to score. Carried on well, taking control of the ball and the game for us to get our second goal coming once again from Levi. At this stage I think it was fair to say we should have been a lot more in front especially with the wind in our favour. Second half we come out against the wind, though Alsager were committing some not so good tackles. We had a lot more shots and attempts on goal with free kicks coming regularly some good individual performances and good team spirit. Two more goals came from our players, with the game ending 4-2 to us. A good result from a difficult game and bad weather. A special well done to our stand in goal keeper Jack who made some great saves and a fine performance who deserved man of the match. Well done to our coaches Gary and Lee for putting a good team together and we all hope Tom our goalkeeper soon gets better and returns in goal. See you all next week.

Sunday 8th January v Betley at Shavington High School

Today’s match was at Shavington High School kick off at 11:30. It was a nice fine morning, all the boys started well settling in with some good football. We took control of the game with our midfield and strikers proving very strong and quick. Our 1st goal was taken very well by Levi 16 mins into the game. We carried on playing good creative football only for Betley to equalise. Our next goal came at 28 mins again taken well by Levi playing well upfront with Bradley. Into the break 2-1 to the good. Second half we came out getting our 3rd and 4th goals, with both once again coming from Levi with Betley getting back into the game at 4-3 we hung on well, then Tom got injured and had to come off after another fine performance. Callum went into goal and played very well making some great saves. Some really good individual perfomances from Dan, Adam and Levi but a very good performance as a team.

Sunday 11th December v Alex Soccer Centre Red Dot at the King George Playing Fields

Kick off at 10, we settled in well for the first 10 minutes with good passing and crossing of the ball. Levi had a good chance to put us in the lead after he broke through their defence but the goalie managed to tip the ball onto the crossbar and out for a corner. Then Red Dot scored the first goal which was very well taken. We held our heads up and carried on playing very good football. We had our chances but were unlucky today as luck went against us. Red Dot then got their second goal for us to go into the break 2-0 down. Second half we came out fighting putting them under pressure but unable to convert any into goals. But there were some fantastic top quality saves from our goalkeeper Tom, who kept us in the game, a true outstanding performance. Levi and Bradley made some excellent runs towards the goal but were kept out. Towards the end of the game there was a very nasty tackle on Dan which resulted in him coming off and unable to carry on. We were then awarded a penalty but were unable to convert it. A fine performance from our new player today Bradley with some excellent football, welcome to the squad. All in all you should be extremely proud of yourselves for by far the best performance of the year easily. Our thoughts go to Dan Dan for his injury hope he is ok and once again well done boys an awesome performance by all.

Sunday 4th December v Nantwich Town Bears at the Barony

Cold damp start this morning kick off at 10:00. We started off very sloppy for the first ten mins and seemed to panic on the ball a bit. We then got a good ball in and G scored our first goal on the 11th min. Adam and Dan made some very good runs on the wings giving us some control over the game with better passing and ball control with Callum scoring our second goal on the 20th min. We quickly got our third goal on the 22nd minute coming from an own goal. Our fourth goal came from a good strike by Adam to take us in to the break 4-0. Second half we came out pretty much the same as the first half with most of the possession but they then managed to get a goal back. We had numerous chances with Dan very unlucky not to score and we also hit the bar. It wasn’t the best performance but a win all the same, well done boys.

Sunday 27th November v Wistaston Lynx at King George Playing Fields

We went into today’s game full of confidence. We had a good start with an early goal from Matty 12 mins into the game after passing the ball well, then Levi scored two good goals in the 16th and 17th minute. We were then piling on the pressure with Wistaston Lynx having no response. We then got our 4th goal from Adam on the 22nd minute with some good football. Matty kr scored our 5th goal on the 32nd minute making it 5 nil at the break. Second half we came out pretty much the same as the first half applying more pressure only for Matty kr to get his second in the 43rd minute as we continued to punish them with Levi securing his hat-trick on the 55th minute and a late 8th goal from the captain Macca. A very good performance well done boys.

Team capt-Macca, Matty, Matty kr, Levi, Adam, Jordan, Tom, Will, Gaz, Jack and Harry.

Man of the match-Macca

Sunday 20th November v Cheshire Blades Tigers at the Peacock

A must win game today to keep us on course for a top three finish. Playing at the Peacock today the pitch was very wet and muddy and we were also two key players down through injury. Anyway we got off to a great start passing the ball well and taking control of the game. We then created our first chance with Macca scoring our first goal, we carried on with some creative football having numerous chances. Then we managed to get another free kick as G was involved in an incident with the opposition resulting in a red card for the away team and a yellow for our captain, who I think handled the situation extremely well so we went in at the break winning 1-0.

Second half we started off where we left off in the first half controlling the ball and commanding the pitch with a fine goal coming from Dan who then produced our third goal. Cheshire Blades scored a consolation goal to make it a 3-1 win. All in all a very good win and some quality individual performances today from everybody but also good to see that we’re getting stronger as a team. A special well done to Jack in goal who played very well. Well done boys.

Sunday 13th November v Alsager Town at Milton Gardens, Alsager

Firstly a very special thanks to our sponsors, Keltbray Aspire for the team’s new training tops.

The team started this game with a positive attitude after last weeks win. We started off passing very well and took control very early in the game, looking to prove we were going to be very strong in all areas today and with the boys really up for a win. Our first breakthrough came with a quality ball in from Matty to Levi who finished with his usual confidence in the 11th minute. We then continued to dominate the game for the next 15 minutes with some great defensive work, our defence being on really good form. G was having an excellent game controlling and breaking down their attacks and creating some good passes to our attack. Our second goal came in the 27th minute, Macca being brought down for a penalty, which Levi took making it 2 - 0. Then just before half time we got our 3rd goal scored by Adam with a very good finish. Second half we came out playing some real quality football. Alsager then conceded a second penalty, Macca being brought down again, he then took and converted the penalty to make it 4 - 0. Then Adam made a quality solo run through their defence to score an excellent 5th goal for us to win the game.

All in all a fantastic quality team effort today everybody played real quality football in all departments. You all deserve credit for a fine display. Special thanks for their time and effort to our coaches Gary and Lee and our linesman Dan.

Man of the match - Matty

Team - Tom, Callum, Jordy, Gaz, Will, Macca, Levi, G, Matty, matty kr, Adam.

P.S. very well done Tom in goal even though struggling with injury no doubt in my mind the best goal keeper in our league excellent.

Sunday 6th November v Stapeley (League Cup Quarter Final) at Mirrion Street

Hi all, welcome to today’s cup match against Stapeley. Not the best morning to start with very thick fog which eventually cleared ready for kick off. Kick off at 10:00 am - Levi got us off to a flying start scoring in the 9th minute, then Macca hit a brace to put us 3-0 ahead with the boys playing some great football. Stapeley also scored to bring it back to 3-1 at half time. Second half - we came out of the break and started really well with Levi scoring his second of the game. As we settled in to the game we got a good rhythm of passing going but unfortunately Stapeley managed to break our rear guard to pull another back and take it to 4-2 only for Danny to reply with a great header which gave us some daylight once again. 3 minutes later Levi stepped up to claim his hat-trick and put the game beyond any doubt. Stapeley kept fighting and managed another goal just before the final whistle. Today I thought the boys played their best football so far with a great team display in passing and keeping control of the ball. Everyone should be very proud of a fine performance.

Man of the match - Jordan

Team - Matt KR, Matty, Macca, Callum, Levi, Tom, G, Harry, Adam, Jack, Dan Dan, Will

Sunday 30th October v Alsager Dynamos U11’s at King George Playing Fields

The boys started well having most of the possession and passing the ball well. Then we scored first with a goal from Levi who also got a second goal for us. Matty played some very good football for us today. Jordan was also very good in defence for us cutting their attacks out. The rest of the team also played really well. As usual Tom was in goal for us first half, then Callum played very well in the second half in goal. Matthew was a good captain and two more goals came from Macca and Jack. All in all a very good performance from the whole team with us winning 4 - 2. A very good all round display too from the under 11s Alsager Dynamos. Man of the match was Matty.

Sunday 16th October v Betley at Shavington High School

Betley started the game very well scoring early on in the fourth min, only for us to reply with a good ball from Macca for dan to score a good goal to leave the game level. We then seemed to not settle very well for around a ten minute period giving away some really sloppy passes and, once again, we seemed to get the wrong decisions from the ref but still battled on. Then Betley scored their second goal just before half time so by the break we were 2-1 down.

Second half we came out fighting playing much better having lots of time on the ball. But then bad luck struck us again as we went 3-1 down but the lads dug deep and played some very good football, with Jack doing very well in goal as stand in keeper as Tom was injured. Then with some good passing and playing Macca scored our second goal to bring it back to 3-2. We had numerous chances to equalize or even win the match but luck was against us this time. A very good performance from the boys and all should be proud of the way you all fought back today.

Team: Jack, G, Gaz, Chapz, Dan, Macca, Levi, Jordan, Matthew, Will, Harry, Matty and Adam

The man of the match today was Adam

PS: Special thanks to Levi’s dad for doing the lines again today and to our coaches Garry and Lee.

Sunday 9th October v Ruskin at King George Playing Fields

The first half was evenly matched to begin with we had some good chances which we should have scored but we were unable to convert today. Ruskin then upped  their game and scored 2 goals so we had to get our heads up and push ourselves hard.We managed to get a goal back before half time which Gaz finished for us. The second half we had a good team talk and we came out with a much better attitude, we passed the ball better and played more as a team. The boys fought hard and as usual Levi equalised for us, we then put them under a lot of pressure. Down on the wings Callum played very well on his crosses and corner kicks midfield and defence also played very well. Tom our goalkeeper kept us in the game with some fantastic saves we were then not given a clear goal to win the match, it being denied by the ref, we then had a few decisions given against us. But we battled on to get a 2-2 draw, well done today to all the lads for another good performance.

Team today - Tom, Jordan, Callum, Mathew, G,Will, Danny, Macca, Matty, Levi, Adam and Gaz.

Goal scorers - Gaz and Levi

Man of the match- Macca

Wednesday 9th August v Cheshire Blades Terriers (friendly) at Ruskin School

The first half was quite evenly matched but Matty KR opened the scoring with a long high drive which went into the top corner of the net to put us 1-0 up and it stayed that way until half time. Gareth made it 2-0 with a hard low drive in from the left. Tom was having hardly anything to do in goal especially with Jack clearing up in defence. Matty KR got the third after some great work from Danny and then Danny got himself on the scoresheet when he netted from close range to make the final score 4-0 and a nice win for the boys.

Sunday 24th July - Stockport Junior Blues Tournament at Wilmslow High School, Wilmslow

This was the first time we’d entered this tournament and we were pleased to find that it was very well organised. The younger boys were playing on a pitch alongside the two older sides we’d entered and it was nice to see all the boys supporting each other. Unfortunately after last week’s heroic winning display we were unable to rise to the same heights and found the going tough against some well organised and long established sides but hopefully the boys learnt some valuable lessons for the new season ahead. Our squad was: Thomas, Adam, Jordan, Callum, Levi, Matt, Danny, Macca and, a late new signing, Gareth.

Saturday 16th July - Audley Tournament

We entered one team in this tournament which, unusually, was a 9-a-side tournament. The weather was wet and windy and we played a total of 8 games, only losing once, but more than getting revenge on the side that beat us by beating them in the semi-final when it really mattered. We won two of our group games and drew the others 0-0 before winning on penalties in the semi-final 5-4, our boys doing superbly under pressure to score every penalty with Tom in goal saving one of theirs. We played really well in the final winning 1-0 to win the trophy. A fantastic achievement - well done to all the boys.

Our victorious squad was: Tom, Adam, Jordan, Matthew, Matt, Macca, Danny, Levi, Liam, Jack and Callum.

Our results were: v Madeley White Star drew 0-0 (Jack played in goal); v Stafford won 1-0 (Levi after 33 seconds); v Sandbach United drew 0-0; v Audley drew 0-0; v Oakengates won 2-0 (Levi after 23 secs, Matty); v Madeley lost 2-0; semi-final v Madeley drew 0-0, won 5-4 on pens (Adam, Danny, Liam, Jordan, Callum, Tom saved one); Final v Sandbach United won 1-0 (Danny).
